Our Ministry

Pukas Ministries is a Nondenominational Evangelical Spirit-filled Fellowship located in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii.

As a Spirit-filled church on Kauai's North Shore, we gather under God's creation - an outdoor church where the ocean breeze mingles with worship and the Spirit moves freely among us. Our church family welcomes both residents and visitors to experience authentic Christian fellowship in the heart of Kapaa.

Our ministry is built on simple but powerful truths: LOVE GOD and LOVE PEOPLE. Everything we do flows from these two commandments. Led by Kahu Jason Kerr and our dedicated pastoral team, we provide biblical teaching, Spirit-filled worship, and compassionate outreach throughout the Kauai community.

Kahu Jason Kerr

Lead Pastor

Kahu Jason leads Pukas Ministries with a heart for the lost and a passion for authentic, Spirit-filled worship. Through his daily devotionals and powerful Sunday sermons, he guides our 'ohana deeper into relationship with Jesus Christ.

His teaching style is direct, biblical, and filled with practical wisdom for daily living. Whether preaching under our tarp or meeting one-on-one for counseling, Kahu Jason brings the truth of God's Word with both grace and conviction.

Kahu Alex Medieros

Associate Pastor

Kahu Alex serves alongside Kahu Jason with a shepherd's heart for our congregation. His dedication to prayer, discipleship, and men's ministry strengthens the foundation of our fellowship.

Through his leadership in Men's Ministries and his faithful service to our community, Kahu Alex demonstrates what it means to follow Christ with integrity and authenticity.

Malia “Mama Kahu” Kerr

Kahu Jason’s wife. Leads worship (often alongside Darryl and others), helps with children’s ministry, coordinates “Each One Reach One” outreach, and quietly fills whatever gaps need to be filled each week.

Darryl Gonzales

At 75 years young, Darryl brings the fire on the 6-string every Sunday. This warrior for Christ rocks out like nobody's business, leading worship with passion and skill that inspires our entire 'ohana. A treasured member of our congregation and a true servant of the Lord.

Lance Horka

Helps create a welcoming atmosphere on Sundays by setting up coffee and pastries. Often serving alongside others so the ʻohana can linger, talk story, and connect.

Elijah Villa

Leads our teen ministry, helping the next generation grow in Christ, with support from another brother and others who step in as needed.

Nani Medieros

Kahu Alex’s wife. Serves in outreach and supports the ministry in many practical and behind-the-scenes ways that help things keep moving every week.

James “Jim” Sherwood

Elder at Pukas. Often among the first to arrive, helping set up chairs and prepare the space so the church family can gather to worship.

Herb "The Polynesian Tigah" Faima

Worship leader, communion server, welcome crew with bulletins, and men's ministry. When Herb shows up, you know the Spirit is about to move!

From setup and sound to cleaning, prayer, encouragement, and quiet acts of service, many hands make ministry possible at Pukas. We’re grateful for every person who serves as the Lord leads, even if their names aren’t listed yet.
